Cameron Mitchell, president and founder of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, to lecture during Global Entrepreneurship WeekNovember 12, 2013
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Robert D. Walter Center for Strategic Leadership at Ohio University will host Cameron Mitchell, president and founder of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, as guest lecturer during Global Entrepreneurship Week. The event will be held Monday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Baker University Center’s Theatre, room 220.
Mitchell’s talk is part of Ohio University’s observance of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the world’s largest celebration of entrepreneurship. Nearly 140 countries will participate in celebrating innovators and job creators through events and competitions that connect would-be entrepreneurs with potential collaborators, mentors, and even investors.
“The Center for Entrepreneurship is proud to partner with the Walter Center for Strategic Leadership to bring a respected innovator of the hospitality world to Ohio University,” said Luke Pittaway, director for the Center for Entrepreneurship. “Cameron’s approach to fostering a values-driven organization is unique. That culture combined with a drive for continuous growth through new concepts and expansion make Cameron the ideal person to help Ohio University celebrate the value of the entrepreneur in our global economy.”
Mitchell started his career in the restaurant business as a dishwasher in a local steakhouse. Today, he heads a privately-held empire of 19 units and eight concepts, along with a successful catering company.
“Different skills are needed to bring an organization from a startup to a successful enterprise,” said Tim Reynolds, executive director for the Center for Strategic Leadership. “Cameron Mitchell has both sets of skills and we’re looking forward to having him share his exceptional and inspiring journey with the Ohio University community next week.”
