Cathy currently owns and operates a local  CPA firm, specializing in individual and small businesses as a business consultant and preparer for tax, accounting and internal controls needs.

In January 2006 she was appointed to serve the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation as Chief of Staff.  In this position, she led initiatives to establish the level of fiscal and operational controls essential for the bureau to successfully move forward in reestablishing trust and transparency.  And, she was instrumental in the redesign of the Managed Care Organization’s (MCO) SAS 70 Control Objectives.  In addition, she was also charged with providing the tools and implementing a framework that would enable management to conduct their own assessment of fiscal and operational controls.

Prior to this, she worked for Ward Group, a management firm specializing in the insurance industry.  Her role in the annual benchmarking process was to provide to clients a management tool that would assist them in remaining competitive and become more efficient.

While working for Nationwide Insurance she held various positions within the areas of Corporate Finance, Life and Health Operations and the Office of Internal Audit.  Prior to Nationwide, she was an internal auditor for a large financial institution.

Cathy is a native of Ohio. She is a graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and was awarded the 2006 Beta Alpha Psi Phillip F Muck Award – Accountancy Alumnus in Industry. She is a member of the OU School of Accountancy Advisory Council.   She is also an active member of the Ohio Society of CPAs, the Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce and the NE Professional Referral Partners, volunteering for many committees and a speaker on a variety of financial and internal controls topics.  In addition, she is an advisory board member of the Linden Grove School.
