National History

The story of Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity began in 1904 at New York University. Four men (nicknamed the “Brooklyn Four”) came together to form the nation's first professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi.  These four men strived to create a fraternal organization that would: foster scientific research in the fields of commerce, accounts, and finance; to educate the public to demand and appreciate higher ideals therein; and to promote and advance in institutions of higher learning, courses leading to the degrees in business administration.

Today, Alpha Kappa Psi is the largest fraternity in the United States.  Worldwide, there are over 190 active college chapters and 8,500 current student members, all dedicated to the same brotherhood and professional development that first motivated the "Brooklyn Four."
